When you know your system is compromised
Some of the symptoms through which I can tell that I have identified a virus among various malware. When my system starts showing these types of symptoms -
- When the Computer’s performance gets slow down
Are my files and apps taking a long time to load? Is my computer taking a longer time to start and runs slowly once it does? If so, it’s possible a virus is infiltrating my operating system.
When endless pop-ups and spam appears on the screen
Frequent and odd pop-up windows are red flags. Pop-ups might prompt I to visit other websites to download antivirus or other software programs, which instead may install malware. Malicious pop-ups and spam may also secretly install spyware that could hijack my browser or steal my passwords and other personal information without my knowledge.
- When the user is locked out of his computer
If I’m unable to gain access to settings and files on my own computer — or I can’t log on or off — malware has likely taken over.
- When some Unusual activities like password changes happen
This could prevent I from logging into my computer.
- · When the homepage of the browser gets changed and unable to reset
Is my homepage randomly switching to another website? Are I unable to reset it? If so, I likely have a virus. Viruses can implement changes to my homepage and create error messages, browser errors, and shortcut files.
- · When the Unknown programs getting started on the system on the startup
Computer viruses can create widespread problems. Adding icons and toolbars that I didn’t set up is just the tip of the iceberg. If unknown programs load when I turn on my computer or another connected device, turn it off. I’ve been infiltrated.
- · When the Mass emails being sent from the user email account
Have I ever received an odd email from a friend that made I suspect someone hacked into their email account? If my email’s outbox contains messages I didn’t send, my social media accounts have posts I didn’t make, or I can’t log into my email or social media accounts, my computer has likely been compromised.
- · When the security software of the system has been disabled automatically
If my antivirus program or security software has stopped working and I didn’t disable it, it’s possible that malware has taken over.
- · When the system’s battery gets drained quickly
Here’s another sign that a virus may have infected my computer and is multiplying: drained battery. As the virus continues to multiply, it uses resources from my computer and creates more activity on my computer. As a result, my battery life is diminished.
- · When the system crashes frequently
Does my computer randomly crash on I? Does my screen freeze and become the infamous ‘blue screen of death’? This could be a sign that my device has been infected with a virus.
