Is RTX 3090 The Most Trending Thing Now?

RTX3090

Nvidia just released its flagship graphics card. Yes, the much hyped Nvidia RTX 3090. Well, we have seen our fair share of graphics cards throughout the years but then Nvidia went all out and claimed that their new graphics card will finally enable 8K gaming.

For those of you who don’t know what 8K gaming means, till date there was no graphics card capable of running games with good fps on 8K TV. Nvidia claim for its card the Nvidia RTX 3090 is not so surprisingly true. That means now we can play games on 8K.

But what does even playing on 8K mean?

Many of us play games on mobiles, consoles and PC. We all know that a PC is something that can run games at their max quality with a quality setup. By quality setup means a high power CPU with a very good 70000 to 1 Lakh rupee graphics card attached to it. Everyone has seen huge 88 inch TVs with OLED displays which have 8K resolution. Yes, those are pure beauty of technology. Just watching those screens makes us awestruck, now imagine playing a game on that huge screen without losing a single detail in the game. Being able to see the game like a movie and experience it like never before. That is what 8K gaming means.

Just look at the image above, this is the difference between the pixel ratio of Full HD, 4K and 8K. We all play on a normal HD screen which is almost 1:16 of what 8K can offer. It’s a massive difference which can change the way we perceive gaming as a whole.

How was this possible?

The answer is two words RTX 3090. This graphics card was released in september 2020 and was cheaper than its predecessor. Which in my opinion was a very big opportunity for people who wanted a god level graphics card and didn’t want to spend a whopping 2 lakhs or more on it. The RTX 3090 is a 2nd gen ray tracing graphics card which can easily run games on 4K. And can also, of course run a game on 8K.

I have this video from Linus Tech tips, youtube Channel, who literally tested out RTX 3090 on the LG OLED 88 inch TV.

Hold on just yet, that’s not all. Now that we are talking about 8K gaming let’s talk about the graphics card a bit.

Nvidia made this card only for one reason. This card is for content creators and gamers both. In fact, someone who works as a modelling artist, Animator, VFX etc. can gain a huge boost in the time it takes to complete a task. With RTX 3090 rendering time is almost half of its predecessor RTX 2080Ti or Titan RTX. This is a powerhouse monster and thus is a very good card with a lower price capable of running softwares like CAD, Solidworks, MAYA, Blender, After Effects with ease and superior control also making them work efficiently without even a slight lag.

Drawbacks of this Beast

  • RTX 3090 is huge, like it’s literally twice the size of any other graphics card in its range.
  • It requires a power of 350 W which is too much for anything because it can put pressure on a 850 W PSU. (PSU – Power Supply Unit, a part of CPU which is used to supply power to every component in CPU like Motherboard, Processor, Hard drive etc.)
  • It requires a very high budget build with the latest processor, motherboard etc. Even then they are not able to pull out the best performance from it.
